AKAN

 DON'T TELL THEM YOUR NAME: https://www.ucl.ac.uk/museums-static/digitalegypt/literature/isisandra.html

I am the eldest son of the eldest, divine seed who came into being out of a god, I am the great one, son of the great one.
The father devised the name. I have many names, many forms, he whose form is in every god, who is called Atum-Hur-Hekenu. My father and my mother told me my name and I hid it from my children, in my body to prevent it happening that a male or female magician strike against me.

Some Obai spells are comprised of some of the following materials: blood, feathers, parrots beak, dogs teeth, alligators teeth, broken bottles, grave dirt, rum, and egg shells. The Obai magick is thought to have originated in the worship of a serpent deity in ancient Egypt. A serpent in the Egyptian language is called "Ob" (Aub), and "Obian" is still the Egyptian name for a serpent. Moses, in the name of God, forbids the Israelites ever to inquire of the demon "Ob" (Aub), which is translated into our bible as Wizzard. The witch of Endor (Ndar) is called (in the original) "Oub" or "Ob", and "Oubaios" was the name of the basilisk or royal serpent, emblem of the sun, and an ancient oracular deity of Africa.

"Obeah is not evil. Obeah is not for evil people. Obeah is for people who will go to the extremes to protect their own, extremes that other people will not go. Obeah is for people who really want the truth, not the fashion, not the fad." - Bonsam Komfo Paapa Yewoti Olajuwon Amenta: https://youtu.be/F7HkZLKbPWw

OWIA EVOLUTION
As someone who does linguistic archaeology daily, one thing I'd suggest to keep in mind is the evolution of language over time. While in many cases I've found that the names of ancient gods are still the names of their attributes in descendant languages (in this case, Khamitic to Akan), what I've also seen is that a god's PRAISE NAME is sometimes the modern day word for his/her ancient attribute. Ra was called by many names (he has 75 actually), so any of those could be a candidate for a word still used in Akan today, not just the name "Ra".

To dig deeper, here are some words and names in ancient Kemetic that could provide an ancient source for Owia/Wia.

1) Uiui (Oowi-oowi) = light (pg.157): https://archive.org/details/Budge.AnEgyptianHieroglyphicDictionary.vol.1/page/157/mode/2up

Åaa (Oa or Aww'a) = burn, flame, fire (pg.17): https://archive.org/details/Budge.AnEgyptianHieroglyphicDictionary.vol.1/page/17/mode/2up

EVOLUTION: Uiui+Åaa = Uiåa (Oo-wi-oa/Oo-wi-oh-wa) = burning light, or light of the fire = Owia = Wia = Sun

2) Åai (O-wai or Aw'ai) = one of the 75 forms of Ra (pg.28): https://archive.org/details/Budge.AnEgyptianHieroglyphicDictionary.vol.1/page/27/mode/2up

Åaa (Oa or Aw'a) = burn, flame, fire

EVOLUTION: Åai+Åaa = Åaiaa (Oh-why-yaa) = this form of Ra is a burning fire = Owia = Wia

3) Åuai (O-u-ai/Oh-oo-why) = one of the 75 forms of Ra (pg.32): https://archive.org/details/Budge.AnEgyptianHieroglyphicDictionary.vol.1/page/31/mode/2up

Åaa = burn, flame, fire

EVOLUTION: Åuai+Åaa = Åuaiaa (Oh-oo-why-yaa) = this form of Ra is a burning fire = Owia = Wia

There are several more suggestions I could give, but I think the above choices are pretty strong.

Owia or Wia seems to be the modern day evolved form of a praise name of Ra.
