DHOLUO
PADRA: LAPWING BIRD TOTEM OF ANCIENT KEMET
The Dholuo dialect or Nilotic Kavirondo, is a dialect of the Luo group of Nilotic languages, spoken by about 4.2 million Luo people of Kenya and Tanzania, who occupy parts of the eastern shore of Lake Victoria and areas to the south. It is also spoken by millions in Uganda, South Sudan, and
Ethiopia. It is used for broadcasts on KBC (Kenya Broadcasting Corporation, formerly the Voice of Kenya).
Dholuo is mutually intelligible with Alur, Lango, Acholi, and
Adhola of Uganda. Dholuo and the aforementioned Uganda
languages are all linguistically related to Jur chol of South Sudan and Anuak of Ethiopia due to common ethnic origins of the larger Luo peoples who speak Luo languages.
It is estimated that Dholuo has 90% lexical similarity with Lep Alur (Alur), 83% with Lep Achol (Acholi), 81% with Lango, and 93% with Dhopadhola (Adhola). However, these are often counted as separate languages despite common ethnic origins due to linguistic shift occasioned by geographical movement.

QUOTE: https://paanluelwel.com/2017/12/21/who-are-the-people-called-atuot-and-where-did-they-come-from/
The scholar John W. Burton added in his research regarding the origin of Atuot name, he said, Dowait was mentioned as the name of the man who remained in the homeland at the head of a group of Luo, while the rest emigrated. The homeland, according to general Luo custom, was probably PaDowait, place of Dowaat’, a name which was then or later became the designation of the whole group which remained behind. Possibly or mainly under Dinka influence, the name underwent a gradual change: Pa- Dowiit became Pa-Dowaat and Pa-Dwot; then (P) Aduot and Atwot.

FROM E. AKINYI ABOKA ON FACEBOOK: The bible says the Amaleks were brutal giants with strong voodoo power and the only way to eradicate them from the earth was to kill their tribes and all the livestock!I believe they are still alive and can be found beyond Sudan! Here’s why. Every time I read about the Amalek and how they were sorcerers who could transform into animals to evade their enemies, I see the distinct group of Luos of Kenya known as Alego or Alek! This group is feared in Kenya for their ability to attack others using irreversible sorcery!
Raila Odinga’s father the late Jaramogi Oginga Odinga is the famous Luo known to transform into a goat or a sheep anytime his enemies were pursuing him, this power to transform himself could have come from his mother who is Nyalego or Alek. Take note that Obama is Alek too and so am I 😜. Talk to me well I got some good answers for you but this may need a sleep over.

According to the Midrash, the Amalekites were sorcerers who could transform themselves to resemble animals, in order to avoid capture. Thus, in 1 Samuel 15:3, it was considered necessary to destroy the livestock in order to destroy Amalek.
